- Resource Selection and Access — Students discover the many facets of a wide variety of resources, including an understanding of parts of a book, types of print and non-print resources, and genre.
- Research/Resource Utilization — Students apply the research process in order to develop successful strategies for locating, using, and evaluating information from an extensive array of resources.
- Communication of Information — Students create presentations to inform or persuade in oral, written, artistic, and/or multimedia formats.
- Literature Appreciation and Comprehension — Students read literature for enrichment, gain an understanding of literary elements, and hone skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking for comprehension.
